Farm Day

Last Saturday , we went to check out the new rabbit farm plot which Jun's dad rented in Broga , about 15 minutes away from the current farm. The farm is near the current Nottingham University campus in Broga and also the Broga village. It's a large plot enough for a petting area , a cafe and also a place to rear rabbits. The land was a fruit orchard - it has got pineapple plants, a nangka tree , durian trees and also petai tree though I don't see any petai. The land owner is an old uncle who's probably too tired taking care of this land now. The fruit trees are matured so it creates a great canopy of shade.

Now it's time to plan for beautification of the farm! The plot has a slope which has great potential for some outdoor activities although it's all in the planning stage. I'm going there again this coming Sunday to take some pictures of the farm to document the growth of it. Would be fun :)

Got it changed!

OK, I can't stand pink much longer ~ Got it changed. The above was how it looked like before the change.

Once upon a Love Story~

It is Christmas time, and FGA always holds a Christmas presentation as a way to reach out and to spread the Gospel since it's the only time when non-believers are more receptive when invited to come to church. This year , the Youth Church is performing a story about Joseph and Mary , rather than the birth of Jesus per se. Nope, you don't get to see the Baby in the crib. It's the Prequel to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Anyway, after that a pastor delivered a message of Christmas in my church yesterday about Jesus Christ who was born to save us while we are yet sinners. He spoke about how he sent his wife an SMS to wish her on their wedding anniversary , and how he waited and waited but no message came back from his wife. When he got home and asked his wife why she did not reply him with a message, she simply said this "Words no use, I want to see the heart." Reminds me of this verse :

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
(1 John 3:18)

I'm thankful for this particular verse which he shared :

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(Romans 5:8)

Notice the verse ; the word is "demonstrates" , rather than "demonstrated" which means it's still happening today! God demonstrates His Love to us 2000 years ago by crucifying His own Son, and He is still doing that today because Jesus also died for my sins which I commit 2000 years after his sacrifice. Isn't that beautiful love?

I'm a Pinky!

Too bored with the frosty white and blue ; I've decided to change my blog's color to PINK. Wonder if you would see the pink color. Oh well, it's time to change after a year right? Ok, maybe it's just a little too pinkish??

The worst thing about changing the template must be the fact that it has deleted all my best links and also my links to all my friends' blogs! Now that sucks. How do I find them again??

Daniel Lee - Mimpi (Malaysian Idol single)

Mimpi

Composed and written: Pot Amir

Inginku lukiskan nota-nota
Laguku mengikut rentak gitar
Dengarkan suara mimpiku bertemakan
Namamu senantiasa selalu selalu

Sedalam tinggi, seluas jauh
Begitulah cita-citaku
Sekiranya kau ingin tahu
Selama ini, hingga ke akhirnya
Suka duka senyum selalu
Kita bersama punya satu
Mimpi

Dengarkan suara mimpiku bertemakan
Namamu selalu namamu selalu

Sedalam tinggi, seluas jauh
Begitulah cita-citaku
Sekiranya kau ingin tahu
Selama ini, hingga ke akhirnya
Suka duka senyum selalu
Kita bersama punya satu
Mimpi

Kita bersama punya satu mimpi

Daniel Lee , the champion of Malaysian Idol II is out with his latest album of ten songs! I still prefer him singing 'live' but it's OK, the CD doesn't sound too bad. His MIMPI song is in both the Malay and the Mandarin version ; I must say I like the Mandarin version more ever since I haerd it over 988 radio station ! Maybe it's the accent , maybe he just sounded better there even though some people may disagree with me. If you like the Malay version, it would be a joy to listen to because this is a perfect version, unlike the 'live' version where there's some out-of-tune parts during his performance in the Finals.

Dad has been wanting to listen to his songs, and now that I have a copy of it , he'd be delighted to listen to it . Not a bad one, check it out! Oh yeah... they even have an official website. One 11-year old boy actually wrote an email to complain about the rampant piracy of his idol's CD. Poor boy doesn't understand that piracy is one problem which is very difficult to tackle.

Interesting webbie - Person of the Year

Was listening to the radio this morning and heard something very cute indeed : You know it's the end of the year, and you know that around this time, there will be many publications nominating the events of the year and stuffs like that ; and TIME Magazine is no different; they are famous for the "Person of the Year" vote. You know how it is - each year they'd be voting for famous people like Bush(why does he ALWAYS get to be voted in- cos of the destructions he's done??) , Blair, famous heroes and heroines like Mother Teresa or the Pope .. ra ra ra... boring ? Ever wonder why you're never the "Person of the Year" despite endless toils you've made to the world? *Ok, maybe they need someone who impacts the world instead, but thats beside the point right?* Wonder no more....

This year there's a T W I S T because you can put yourself (yes , your beautiful face!) as the front cover of the TIME mag and vote for yourself!!! Want to know more? Check this out : http://impoy.com. Just too bad that I can't add captions to the magazine cover... hehehe...

The draft

I wrote this on the 12th November....which I saved as a draft and now the person which I spoke about is already gone:

***
I just came back from the hospital after visiting my uncle who is now bedridden due to the
cancer of the lung. His condition is deteriorating ; very obvious since the last time I visited him last Sunday. Looking at him , I felt a great sense of lost and sadness - he isn't the Papak I knew before. My uncle was never a man of many words , but he is a man of great sense of responsibility. He has been the Big Brother to all his siblings as Grandpa passed away 16 years ago. He cares for everyone in the family - from my widowed aunt to my unmarried uncles - none escaped his attention.

Looking at him this noon on the bed really made my heart ache. When we approached the bed , his eyes were rolled up, the pupils looking above while the sclera were very obvious. I could see the His left hand was tied to the bed to stop him from pulling the drip plugs off his right hand.

*Did he want to end his life? Is his pain unbearable now? He must be....*

His BP yesterday shot up to 210/140 but thankfully it came to 170/? just now.His body now has become very frail and weak; he can hardly walk now.

I fear losing him.I could only pray for him, and God to take his pain away....

****

My uncle passed away peacefully on the 14th of November 2005. It's been more than a week now , and life soon settled down again. Thanks to those who has kept my uncle in their prayers.

Challenge

What is a love relationship?

A connection between two persons based on trust and understanding - of honesty and of high integrity ; not of unpure thoughts and of lies. Keeping this close to the heart until the end of the life is very challenging because we need to remind ourselves daily what true relationships and commitment really mean. It is always easy to say "I am committed to you" or "I am willing to wait" but what those golden words really mean is the ACTION that we show. In this, I believe it will all be proven in time to come.

We are accountable to our own actions because each action has a repercussion towards the people around us - therefore, these days I become more watchful over my own thoughts and actions. Never mind the distractions....

Update : Lightning Striking Twice

The robber(s) went in through the front gate - a gate door made from stainless steel. Dad said they snapped it open and later pried open the wooden door as well. The whole house is in a mess again now after being searched. It happened while my cousin was in my aunt's house , so it must have happened between dinner time and 11pm. The neighbours must have heard some sounds, but decided not to help. A spirit of neighbourliness or selfishness here?

My cousin decided not to report to the police since they didn't do anything during the last time of report anyway. But at least if they report, that would add onto the statistics and HOPEFULLY ( with caps on) someone would notice the rising numbers of neighbourhood crimes. Unless someone makes an action, this case remains another number which adds on to the statistics. But my best guess would be that they would just add the number of police beats around the area ; to catch the thief would be like searching for a needle in the sea - these guys are faceless and too smooth.

Poor security everywhere nowadays. Sighhh...

Happy Birthday Jun!

Happy 23rd Birthday , my dear Jun! Have a blessed year ahead. Hope that this year's birthday is a memorable one for you. Wishing you a year showered with lots of love, happiness and blessings from our dear Lord. :D

Yuen Yee's 21st Birthday celebration

A bit too late to update this - I should have done it long long time ago. Everything went well - we had more than 50 guests coming... it rained in the evening and at night, but stopped later.

Coincidentally, one granduncle passed away on Friday night , causing a few aunts and uncles to abstain from the party because of some superstition that "red and white events cant mix". Birthday parties are red events while funerals are white events. I thought they could attend YY's birthday party first and then attend the funeral at night ; but since granduncle's rank in the family is higher, he gets the priority in any family event. Attendees of the funeral normally do not attend both events together in case it brings bad luck/ bad omen to the one who is hosting the red event.

YY seemed disappointed that night as we expected a big turnout , especially when we're such a close-knitted family - but we couldn't change the fact that Chinese are still superstitious lot when it comes to things like this. Lots of leftovers that night , but nevertheless we had a real good time celebrating her birthday and also her "present-opening" ceremony. Hehehhe..........

p/s : So you're 21 now huh! Now you has the license to kill.... err, I mean - thrill!

Lighting can strike the same place twice

Mum and Dad just got out of the house minutes ago, very unlikely at this hour as it is already nearing midnight - Cousin's house got robbed again. The last time it got robbed was one or two months back - can't really recall the exact date. The robber came in through the roof after climbing the phone pole just right behind cousin's house . I remember Big Aunt asking Dad to get help to remove the metal bars which are attached to the phone pole. These metal bars were actually easy stairways to allow anyone to climb up to the rooftop. Removing them would help not onlyto safeguard my cousin's house , but the surrounding houses as well.

I wonder how the robber got in this time. This incident really would put Big Aunt into uneasiness... :( Just wait for Mum and Dad to come home to find out how.

Tomorrow

It's Yuen Yee's 21st birthday celebration tomorrow! Her birthday isn't tomorrow, but since her actual birthday falls on a weekday and knowing that everyone would be too busy to attend a weekday birthday party, Mum decided to have it tomorrow - the 8th of October. So all the preparations were made weeks before - the list of guests , the food , the present, the cakes . The guest list is shorter this time as YY will not be inviting any of her friends , save her "special friend" ; not because she doesn't have any friends, but because they are all non-locals and do not have a place to bunk during the weekend after the party.

I'm going back tonight to help her to make the jellies for tomorrow's party. Gotta remind her to put some coloring into the mixture so that it doesn't look so pale. It's also much easier to clean the mould containers after removing the jellies since you can actually see the jelly leftovers stuck in them. This comes from experience!

Bought her a gift , hope she likes it. I know I like what I bought very much... hehhehe... If she doesn't like it, I'm glad to take it back :) *Buruk siku!*

Forwarding emails

This morning I received an email about a girl who lost her parents in the recent tsunami which hit South Asia in the beginning of the year; she has no recollection of her name nor her own family , she has lost her parents and now still remains at the Phuket Hospital. The email pleads that its recipients would forward it to all their contacts :

Please don’t just delete this - your contribution could be the one that solves this little girl’s problem. Even if you are one of the people who believes that it is always someone else’s obligation to help the misfortunate, please know that forwarding this will cost you nothing. Let’s help!! Forward this to everyone you can.

I wonder if all these emails are genuine, or would it actually achieve the objective in finding her parents... Perhaps they do, I've no idea... but I just don't forward emails like this.

Would you forward emails which asks for blood donations ? Perhaps I would , if it sounds genuine enough. What about those which promise monetary rewards - something like Microsoft would reimburse you with a fat paycheck when you forward the email to everyone you know --indirectly becoming a spammer for someone smarter? Perhaps it really sounds silly - but let me ask this : Has anyone really become richer by just forwarding emails everyday?

Just some observations to the strategies they use :-
(a)Threaten(punishment)==> You'll have bad luck for the next 7 years if you don't forward them. Unlucky for them, they go straight into the trash bin.

(b) Soft stance(reward) ==> Some goes by softer stance of saying that you would be blessed by God if you forward those emails. I wonder if God would.

*Ok, time to check my next forwarded email.*

The Ignatius Trail

Well, apart from the little misfortunate incident which happened today, I was glad that I met up with Jennifer for a play at The Actors Studio, Bangsar. She was kind enough to invite me to The Ignatius Trail, a play from Scotland which won the Edinburgh Festival 2004 award.

This was my first visit to the Actors Studio since 7 years ago when I attended my first ever play in Dataran Putra which was right beneath Dataran Merdeka. I still remembered watching Edwin Sumun and Jo Kukathas but don't ask me the name of the play, cause I can't remember! Edwin Sumun wore this pair of jeans which got a big hole at the butt ; GOSH! That's why I can remember so well :) Hahahhaha~

Anyway, the play was a light one about peace-loving pirates (I'd call them wimpy) of a ship called the Yellow Flower ( since when pirates have ships which sounded so feminine?!) who met a pirate inspector called Celia Salt(do not call her "c-salt") . She had a plan to turn them into bloodthirsty, ferocious evil pirates .... and the laughter began...

The crowd - full of kids who are probably International School kids who are having their summer holiday right now. They just laugh their hearts out and scream when they want to durnig the play - happy kids:) Ohh, we even saw Ahmad Izham, the 8tv CEO who brought us Malaysian Idol into our idiot boxes!

When the going gets tough...

I hate making this site sound like a complaint site - but nothing is worst than this:
I was attending the e-security seminar today in MINES Convention center . My boss and I were walking up to the elevator towards the small seminar room which had a talk about WIMAX when suddenly my white sandals decided to give way and SNAP!!! To my horror, the white piece of PVC where I slip my toes in between was torn into two pieces! Really, THAT was the one and only link which makes the sandals wearable!

OK, there I was - stuck- because I can't walk any further, not that I didn't try , but really I can't, plus I wasn't driving this morning, so I had no extra pair of shoes which I can change into. My boss is with me, but he isn't a female, so he won't be able to help me buy a new pair of shoes in Mines shopping mall. The mall is at least 5 minutes of walk away...

So what did I do? I took off my sandals, and walked BAREFOOTED all the way from the convention center to the mall which was 5 minutes away, saw a shoe shop and walked straight into it and bought the first pair of shoes I saw! Didn't care about the comfort - just needed a pair of shoes!

Thank God I was wearing a pair of long black pants and there was Mines to the rescue. I'd be in deep trouble had the expo been held in some unknown convention centers without any shops! His grace is sufficient! Hehehehe... :)

Umm.. the whole episode was kinda comical - I think my boss was about to laugh at me :'( ; not mentioning all those macho guys who probably must be thinking that I'm some siau girl- "What on earth is this girl doing walking around barefooted in public? We only see this in Thaipusam right?!"

Talk about when the going gets tough!

Future?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? What are your plans? Where do you plan to go from here?

Any answers?

No. At least not today. Hopefully I know it in the not-so-distant-future. I need that direction.

A string of events

This month doesn't seem to bode well for my dear one. Firstly an accident involving three cars while we were down in Melaka on the first week of August , then another minor crack at the windscreen last week on his way to JB due to a blind little stone and now the side window was broken by some thugs. This is the best part : why would someone want to steal your road tax?

Beats me. :(

A world of criminals.

====

The world is really unsafe nowadays. Just a few weeks ago, 4 cars in my neighbourhood were broken into - as you'd already guessed, they targeted cars with CD players. One pretty Toyota Camry which belonged to the neighboor a few doors away had its side mirror removed pretty perfectly and not smashed. Wonder how these guys had the time to actually do that?! Another absurd thing : A Kancil got robbed as well , for coins which probably didnt make more than RM10. What's in the mind of these criminals?! Plenty of fish in the sea and they chose an anchovy?

What am I busy with currently?

Currently deploying an antivirus solution to the entire network -this new toy is pretty cool because the new version is not only more canggihfied, it also comes with the ability to track down files which are infected with trojans, and it has realtime protection which means that I'd receive an alert every time a virus is detected , unable to be disinfected and therefore deleted. Mailbox has tonnes of emails like that! So my typical day would be sitting at my workstation , working on the Administration Kit (a network control center) and deploying antivirus software by using the PUSH method , unlike before this where we would need to go PC by PC to do so. Don't play play with the Russians when it comes to antivirus solutions.... it's not your typical Symantec or McAfee yeah!

Also playing with the new phone - bought a Sony Ericsson k700i. The camera's not that sharp , but acceptable la.. I found out that the SMS writepad is not as great as Nokia 3310 (my old phone) because I can't write beyond 160 characters like how I did using the old phone. Need to get a Bluetooth device to transfer files , else this Bluetooth is as good as a white elephant. Saw one at Lowyat , which can be plugged to the notebook for transfer , it's about RM80. See la, one of these days.. Phone book is great ; I can insert pictures, ringing tones, email address, company name, home address .. all the information you want to know about a person and more. With 41MB of memory (unexpandable, mind you), I can store more phone numbers than I'd probably need :)

A world of technology.

P/s: Condition of the neck : pain as hell now... Need a massage badly. Condition of the leg: Still painful when I walk. Sprained it a little while jogging in the gym. Effect: Out of the gym for 3 weeks now. :(

Pekeliling is Shifting - Part 2

This is one fond block of memory which I'd like to keep in my little brain for as long as I can. Unfortunately , it's going ... but when ? I've no idea. Blocks A and B are already emptied out, leaving a few other blocks which are still being occupied until further notice. Two aunts who are still staying in Block C and G are still hanging around. Most of the occupants in Blocks A and B are allocated units in newly-built government apartment blocks at Sri Rampai, Setapak. I've been to that area before ; it's pretty convenient because there's ready buses available as well as a market , shops and some eateries.

But there's a hitch in moving all the occupants from Pekeliling. The Government didn't make enough units to place all occupants in one single area in Setapak. Each new block can only house half of the occupants in the old block - what a hiccup!!! Didn't they calculate properly how many units they had to build before even deciding to move people from their homes?

According to Aunt #3 who rents a flat unit from DBKL , she is trying to apply for a different flat unit which is around the Jinjang area because it's more convenient to her in terms of transportation , to pay her bills and to move around. Wonder what she means - because there's no LRT stations in Jinjang, unlike Setapak where they have a Wangsa Maju Putra LRT station. And hey, comparing Jinjang and Setapak , perhaps it's better to stay in Setapak - the name sounds more glamour at least heheh....

Aunt #2 faces the agony of staying alone if renting occupants start moving out of Block C. Hers is a bought unit, and occupants who bought the flat units a long long time ago still has no where to go until this point of time. She'd probably have to move in with Aunt#2 if that happens, because it's simply unsafe for her to take the lift up and down in a quiet Block C. I could imagine how Block C would be - ghostlike just like Block A or B! Those blocks are all dark and quiet, the only good thing would probably be the clean streets down at the pavements because for once, they are litter-free since the blocks are people-free. :) Even the carparks are empty ; no cars parked at the parking grounds. Even though it is orderly , it never cease to give me this eerie-creepy feeling everytime I look at them on my way back from the office in the evening....

PC restarts every time I...

The PC has always been restarting itself once in a while ever since I bought it. OK, back track a little ; bought this PC last year when I just started working so that I am able to store my mp3 files and photo files just before I need to return the notebook to the company which sponsored me.

Anyway.... the history to this PC is this : ever since I installed Azures to download files from Bit Torrent and play them on my Real Player , my PC has been restarting more often now... I'm suspecting it's the downloaded files which have probably somehow corrupted the Real Player , because every time I try and play those files in Real Player, it would restart the PC. I've now resorted to playing the music files with Winamp - so far so good as the PC is still running good while playing the music files. I'll monitor the PC for few days and see if it still reboots while playing mp3s. Hopefully the problem would be because of RP.

Feeling lost without the Lamb

What qualifies us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Is it by attending church every Sunday, attend every CG meeting, participate in every prayer meeting , have many Christian friends , sing praise and worship songs, wear a cross which symbolizes our status as a Christian , read the Bible everyday?

Of course, all these are great ... but what actually is it that makes God want to smile at me? I believe it is the heart that counts more than anything else. The heart to continually seek Jesus as the Lord of my life, the First Love .. because He first loved us. We could all be Christians of 5 years old, 10 , 15 , 20 or even 50 years, yet do we miss the point of what Christ is all about? I ask myself this question all the time .... and as I look at myself, I realise that it makes no difference whether I started believing in Christ many years ago , or I only begin to know Him yesterday - because God does not see us by looking at the number of years we proclaim to be Christians.

And no matter what I do, or how much I accomplish in helping others will buy my a ticket to Heaven .. because it is not by deeds that we are saved anyway. Only by faith in Jesus Christ will I be safe.

The test of Our Religion

Imagine that you are making application for heaven. What would you list as your qualifications?

  • I have always believed in God.
  • I'm thought of as a religious person.
  • I have tried to live a good life.
  • I have been baptized.
  • I go to church.
  • I haven't done anything really bad.
  • I have friends who will vouch for me.

I hope by now you realize that if you were to list any of those qualifications on an application for heaven, it would indicate that you don't yet understand the worthlessness of religion.

The only application that would be accepted by heaven would be one on which you listed your qualifications as follows:

  • I can cite no merit of my own.
  • I have been a sinner from birth.
  • I am coming not in my name but in Christ's.
  • I believe He is the Son of God and my Savior.
  • I have accepted His sacrifice for my sins.
  • I believe He rose from the dead.
  • I have put my trust in Him to save me.
This is the confidence of the apostle Paul who, to distinguish between religion and Christ, wrote: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works [pure religion], which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Eph. 2:8-10).

WIll I give You up, Lord? Will You give me up , Lord?

God, I thank you for this burning desire to live a life for You. I thank You for not keeping away during this season of dryness.

I know Lord, that You honour sacrifices made for Your name. I pray Lord, that You will speak truth and life into me... and fill my heart with glad songs again , that I know You are God, and You are near...

I will be still, coz You are near.

War Of the Worlds

"The last war on earth won't be started by Man."

Great tagline for a science fiction like this one. This is one show which got me glued to the screen, and made me feel as though I was in the show itself. Hahahha sounds silly but that's how engrossed I was in the show.

It's a movie with alot of good effects, little talking , only a lot of screaming and yelling , and some good acting. Apart of that, little explaination of what happened, you just gotta make 1+1 and equal it to 2. See Dakota Fanning yelling at the top pitch of her voice and Tom Cruise taking a more fatherly role in his life now - something different from all the macho roles he undertook before this.

This movie really is quite confusing - very little answers ; Why do aliens come? Where did they come from? What do they really want? What do they feed on? Why they die so easily when they have technology to exterminate people so easily?

Let's just wait for WOTW II for the answers. It's gonna be better than this !

When Life is empty...

... fill it with love
... fill it with good thoughts
... look for people
... look for God.

Pekeliling is shifting

Pekeliling no more!

.... after standing tall for over 40 years , finally the City Hall has decided to move one of the oldest government flats in Kuala Lumpur to a place newer , and of course cheaper in land value.

.... It feels sad to see the blocks being emptied out phase by phase - this was where I grew up!!! My playground and my childhood memories were etched in this area. I remember watching The Mall being built, and how the Star LRT's foundations and pillars were put in place ... how this area has changed over the years.

.... I remember that the underpass connecting Block C (where we stayed) to the market place across the ever-busy Jalan Tun Razak used to flood during heavy downpours . Pedestrians who walked from Jalan Ipoh near the General Hospital after work even had to brave through the flood waters to get back to their homes as there was no pedestrian bridges being built. The underpass was sort of a curse and also a blessing to occupants in this neighbourhood because drug addicts and beggars infested this tunnel during night time, and there were horror stories of how people got mugged here. This was why we would avoid walking to the other side of the block during night time and during the quiet times of the day - say early evening. Not to mention, as this tunnel had "home guests" at night, you can imagine the stench emitted from the tunnel since these guests need a place to relieve themselves...hmm, OK, enough said.

.... Something which also didn't change over the years ; the cleanliness of this area, or rather the LACK of it! The place is still littered with rubbish everywhere and the elevators are still dirty due to the low civic-mindedness amongst many occupants. It's the same old stench from humans... sigh... I wonder if this will persist in the new apartment blocks - perhaps it's rather unlikely as it would be the same set of occupants in both areas, isn't it?

Attempt at the Rice Cake

Haven't been to the kitchen for a long time, so now it's going back there to experiment. Saw the recipe in the book yesterday night and thought, hmmm.. since I'm not gonna do anything today, I might as well make some good use of my time to cook something which I like to eat when I was young....

I remember the times when I was still a kid, and how I loved to eat rice cake from the market place in Pekeliling made by this particular grandma. (Wonder where she went to now that Pekeliling had to move) Well, it's not expensive, I think a piece just cost 50 cents in those days... OK, maybe more... A good rice cake is translucent , indicating how smooth the texture of the cake within was... Use a fork and cut a small portion out of the cake before adding a little condiment made of "choi pou"(a type of vegetable) fried together with shrimps ... mmm..

It's just the little things in life which makes us happy isn't it? :)

Why did I like the cake so much? Well, yeah, it's just a simple food since the cake is just made of rice flour anyway. It's the skill to make the cake smooth as silk which amazed me more. Now that I have to learn to make it myself, I realised that things aren't simple as they look! Looks like I've to return to the kitchen to perfect the skill before actually presenting my own rice cake to anyone...

Blair says

"Ideals survive through change, they die through inertia in the face of challenge." - Tony Blair in response to EU's fiasco lately.

What is the ideal of your life? Is it money? Properties? Career? Love? Most people yearn for the items mentioned; indeed they are important in wake of the ever-changing society. Personally, I find it a struggle to juggle between the need for money and career and the need to find the center of my life again. There's an urge to excel , to do more , to learn and to practice more, but somehow things always get stuck in between. Yes, money is still important , but satisfaction to know that the job is well done is even more important these days.

I ask myself daily, do I matter ? If I am no longer in this position, in this company, would it matter? Are we all indispensable or otherwise? There's been layoffs and restructuring of companies - and if we do not keep busy on our toes, can we actually survive the world out there?

Perhaps I can modify the line above : "Tough people survive through change, and the weak die through inertia in the face of challenge."

Face to face with ....

God works in mysterious ways.... and I can't tell you enough how much I want to thank God and shout Hallelujah when I saw the passing mark on the screen.

=:Flashback:=
8th June 2005
12.45pm - Panicky me.My goodness.... OSPF, RIP?? NAT , Access List??? PPP , HDLC??
1.30 pm - 15 more minutes to ...?
1.45 pm - Get into the exam room... the all-too-familiar room with the PCs and the printer which would print the result..
1.50 pm - Cisco Survey , yada yada yada...
2.00pm - Demo on how to answer the questions - MCQ and Simulations.
2.05 pm - Exam begins. I thought it was 1 and a half hours paper... how come it was shown 1 hour 55 minutes when I started? Weird..
3.15 pm - Exam completed. Only one simulation question. The rest of the questions look pretty familiar... OK, here comes the results... Can I not look?

A moment later... "Congratulations ..........." I PASS!!! :-0 Thank God praise God... All the glory belongs to You!

I'm just too elated right now.... I'm being more grateful than being happy because without His blessings, I'd not make it I think... He is more faithful than we all think. Thank you, Lord, for making it possible! Pray before you go in, praise God after it is over... indeed.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Another group of special people who made it all possible today : my closest buddies - Jun Hao , Carol , Tomas and unknown prayer warriors who interceded for me... Without them , nothing is possible. They saw the lowest side of me , through the down time. They were the ones who said 'move ahead' and 'i believe in you' and 'i have the confidence in you' when I don't even feel an ounce of that in me... Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Overcoming fear

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

The Prayer

I've studied all I can
I've done all I could
I've ran the full round
Coming to this point is not easy

It shouldn't be so hard
It was never meant to be this way

So what if I fail again?
The sky is going to be blue again
The world won't stop turning
The clouds are going to be white as snow
And people are just going to go thru life today like they did yesterday.

My doubt is real
And it's really BIG
How would I know if it is the way to go?
Only God knows how much strength there's left inside of me
Only an ounce of strength
There's nothing left.

Maybe I'm meant to pass,
Or maybe not
But whatever it is -
Praise be to God
Because His will is already done.

Amen.

Depends on who?

How much control do I have over my own life?

Literally very little now. It feels totally unsafe , like hanging at the cliff without a rope, or a harness. It's a choice between jumping off the bungee and jumping off a cliff.Which one would you choose?

In receiving Christ, there is an invisible rope, and most often we do not see it. And then the Devil comes and says there is no rope, and we're all going towards damnation. How doomed can life be at this point?

I've never been in this state like what I am right now. Totally, totally unable to feel that control in my own hands, as if I'm falling into a deep pit , like walking in a dark tunnel ... is there no end to this? When will Light come again? When will I see the meaning to all this?

I'm praying harder than before.... Praying that God will see me through all this ... praying God will show His way, His will.

Long time

It's been a long time since I last blogged. Nothing much, still the same old me... except that I havent been having very good sleep every night worrying about a thousand things in my life - predominantly my soon-to-be-coming exam.

I'm really afraid of failing this exam, I don't know why.... It's just a phobia of taking the same exam and failure seems to be so real... What if I fail again? But then again, the exam can't be so hard, I just wonder why I'm taking it so hard.... Perhaps the main problem is that I can't remember alot of facts nowadays - and "coincidentally" that very CCNA book is full of facts!

I don't know the outcome of this exam, but whatever it is , like what an old friend said to me years ago - Pray before you go in, praise God after you've done it. I'm just going to stick by it, and stand by God's Word.

This whole incident just reminds me of how doubtful I am towards my own ability. I wish I can see the reason why I'm going through all this. If this isn't for me, then what is?

I will NOT be a loser

My commitment towards excellence :
1. It's better to have a CCNA in the pocket than not.
2. It's better to pass the exam than not because prolonging the exam period will cause unnecessary stress and restlessness.
3. It's better to suffer for 3 weeks than a lifetime.
4. I will not give up my dream to be a CCNA graduate.

God, please bless me in my journey to become a network professional. I pray for Your guidance and Your protection. No prayer sounds small enough for you, I know You have not forgotten me, God. See me through God. Amen.

CCNA

Planning to retake the exam when my boss is not around Malaysia. Would be during the second week of June... which means I'll have to either take leave to sit for exam or to take study leave. I think maybe I'll get the study leave - since I think I have another 3 days in my allotment.

Pray nothing goes wrong this time, and that I'll be familiarised with TestKing's paper like the back of my hand. I'm just wondering how everyone managed to score above 900/1000 , marks like 987 is not a surprise amongst members of this CCNA-online club which I am a member of. Did they eat, sleep and drink TestKing? Maybe burn the exam papers and drink it befoer taking the exam.... Or they are just plain smart..

thinks in the positive way lar
u spent rm1 smth then u get a can of coke
he spend the same amount but he don't even have soft drink in that can lar
LOL
:D

LOL nice way of putting it  , but remember he spend Rm1 + and he got RM160, 000. 00 free :omg:

Found it in a hospital. The irony. For a drink that causes so many health complications it rewards the person who drank it in a place to heal and to get advise on why to avoid such a drink.

Pure IRONY instead.

MCSE and CCNA

What do you get when you take two certifications at the same time?

1. Head confused
2. Head full of techie facts
3. I'm beginning to see stars

I'm amazed at a friend who managed to do it ; not sure if he did two at the same time, really salute him. He is now a MCSE as well as a CCNA graduate. When will I be like him? And more importantly, so what if I'm like him? What lies ahead?

Been a week...

It's been a week since I last updated this site. Nothing exciting happened except that I had three nights of dinner with the same McDonald's ... and I finally realised that nothing much in this world beats Mum's homecooked food on a weeknight , right after a hard day's work. On the last night of OT last Thursday, I politely declined my boss's offer to order McDs again *actually I'm pretty bored with their menu already* and insisted that I eat dinner at home. hehehe....

****

Some people say do not find troubles, let troubles find you. I find that statement so true ; everyday of my life at work is basically focused on solving problems which are largely others. They say it's about improving the system. But problems come at the most unexpected times, and when you think you have found a solution to a problem, another will spring up. How ironic and how boring life can get over that!

Manual!

Not easy to drive the monster laa...
I must have done some injustice to the GTi when I drove it around my neighbourhood today.. hehehhee ..

The car must be thinking "Which idiot is this driving me around without knowing how to change gears..... grrrr...."

Anyway, the reason why manual cars are so much fun:
1. You dont get to be lazy on the road dreaming about something.
2. You can banish this "boy thing" about driving manual cars.... and finally one less comment about "girls only drive manuals"
3. You can drive super-toycars such as Fiat Bravo 1.8, Mini Cooper S and BMW X3 - err, if u have the money to buy them at least .... or you can try and drink many Cokes and hope you win the Cooper S - but ohh, wait, a boy from Kuantan had just won it!

The trouble with the manual cars are always the clutch and the gear engagement.
"Slow down accelerator, press clutch and engage gear..."

Try and balance at the hill.
"Release the clutch slowly, release the brake and accelerate the car without moving it. Make sure the needle points to 1 at the RPM meter. If you dont want the car's engine to die off, accelerate more , until 2."

How to make an emergency brake.
"Press both the brake and the clutch together!"

Things to work on:
1. The engagement of gears and clutch.
2. Confidence and control of the car on the road.

You Will Never Walk Alone Again

Only one word : U N B E L I E V A B L E~

Anfield was beaming in red ; hardly any blues really.... Players were anxious and the managers even so.

The goal of Luis Garcia didn't look like one from where the cameras were shooting, and we could so clearly see that the Chelsea defenders tried so hard in kicking the ball out of the goal post. That's as early as the 3rd minute of the Second Leg which happened in Anfield. I think many would call that goal a controversial one, but nevertheless as Benitez puts it :

"We are in the final. They(Chelsea) beat us three times by the odd goal this season and we beat Chelsea tonight. I am a very proud manager."

A few memorable incidents:
1. Rafa was so excitedly shouting to his boys during the last few minutes of the game that he overstepped into Mour's territory. I was surprised to see Mour didnt scour at him...
2. Two idiotic fans held up play by running onto the pitch - one flinging a flag in Mourinho's face.
3. The whole Reds winning was just moments of being crushed - not only from entering the finals of Champions League this year, but also from even entering Champions League next year since Liverpool did not make it into the top 4 teams of EPL. How could it have been crushed?
  • Time: 1 minute before 96' (90'+6' extra time)
  • Incident : The ball was flicked one last time by Gudjohnsen , flashing a shot inches wide with the goal seemingly at his mercy. But it was not meant to be ; no one finished it for him.... Else, the Reds would have to go home crying and Blues would still have their Triple Shot dream this season.
Man of the Match?
Must be Jerzy Dudek man...he saved soooo many attempts for Liverpool. One most memorable one was from Lampard. Undeniably!

Facts aside, I made a promise to a few Liverpool fans that I would be a part of the LFC if the team makes it to the finals of Champions League this year, never did I know that it would happen....

Now Liverpool is just waiting for whoever is going to win the Second Leg between AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven. I think AC is going to win in style.Maybe 1-0.

The War

What are you???
"Why not you read me up?"
I have done that, and I have no idea who the hell you are! You're a client or the server software?Client right?
"Well, thats what the documentation says isn't it?"
Well yeah.....
"So, you're asking the obvious!"
OK .... So , how do I go about setting the FTP server up?
"Go read somemore!"
Dang, why dont you give me some answers here??? I'm pretty frustrated because your documentation is everywhere and it's so hard to follow because I get lost in the labyrinth of more and more documentation!
"Hey, if you're misbehaving with your words , I'm not gonna help you okay??"

Walking in the Holy Spirit

The church is embacking on the series of sermons focussing on the Third Person of the Trinity - The Holy Spirit.

I've never thought about this but as I was listening to Pastor Dorai speaking about the acts of the Holy Spirit and how it flows like fire, suddenly I looked at my own life and I remember the nickname Firewalker which I use in the cyberworld ... If this is the Fire of the Holy Spirit, I would love to walk in it, and soak in its presence.

The encouragement I always get when I remember the Holy Spirit's FRUIT(notice it is not "fruits") :
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness , faithfulness and self-control.

Why is it fruit and not fruits? This is an interesting question , which I ask myself sometimes.. The asnwer given to me is this ...
Because it is a package and you will not have all the 9 attributes if you do not have the Holy Spirit with you. For example : You can be loving, you can be a good person, but you may not feel the peace of God resting with you..

May this soul walk in your Spirit , o God.Amen.

Am I wasting my time here?

Where am I going?
How do I go there?
Am I wasting my time here?

These questions suddenly popped up into my mind when I read a dear friend's blog .
I see friends movig around me so fast , some are already doing their Masters degree, some are flying overseas for business trips sponsored by their companies, some got married, some are doing well in their work .... all of them below 25 years of their lives.

Is this success? Is this what God wants me to be? What does God want me to be? Who does He want me to become? Am I running too fast? Am I running too far? Does God see me by my resume at the end of my life? Am I living my life to what He accords me to?

Why is it that I feel that I'm running too fast ; sometimes out of the orbit ; sometimes it's the other way round - that I'm too slow and everyone else is running ahead of me? Is this kiasuism and the need for accomplishment killing me slowly, but surely? Or has God's presence and peace left me?

Maybe I should just live my own life as if I don't care about others. Not to think of lost opportunities , but focus in running according to Him? How do I do that? Would my desire to do that run out before I even reach there?

So many questions, so little answers.

Setup of FTP server

This is one thing which was never attempted before. There's so many things to think about :
First : functionality. Second: Authenticity. Third: Security.

Still working on it. Lots to try on. Well, at least the week is not boring... :)

One Week without IM

.........is like one lifetime without it!

Effects as below:
  • Work efficiency : increased.
  • Accompliment of the week : FTP server set up , emailing typing speed increased , IQ (allegedly) increased according to a research reported by BBC without IM.
  • Failures of the week : Time passed very .. verrrry slowwwwleeeyyyyy.... , need to eat chewing gum and talk more crap , need of more MP3s , need of more handsome lads in my office - current count : nil.
  • Thankful for : Friday is here, finally!!!!!!!!!

Acceptance of the truth

In life, there are always things which you can change and some which you cant.
I saw a very interesting prayer last weekend which sounded like this:

God, grant me the serenity to accept things which I cannot change,
Grant me courage to change things which I can,
and the wisdom to differentiate between the two.

It's time we move on and live a life, and not just existing.... Harbouring ill-feelings against someone brings more adverse effects to yourself than to others.

Melaka is famous for....

1. Food: Satay celup, cendol, beef noodle, chicken rice balls, nyonya food(tak makan),yam cakes, currypuffs.
2. A lot of night spots but they are all empty at night.
3. There's plenty of food spots in Melaka..... but u gotta find them.

Spent half the travel budget on food... I'm in self denial now because I have not gone on the weighing machine. Maybe later.. hehhehe

New Pope is elected : Pope Benedict XVI

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is officially elected by the Conclave as the new Pope Benedict XVI.
Have no knowledge about him, but read the CNN and they said he is the "head prefect of Pope John Paul II" ... close confidante of the late pope.... things like this. It also means he holds strongly all the traditions of the Roman Catholic church . The 78 year old pope, oldest in the history of St Peter's is seen as "
an enormous disappointment for all those who hoped for a reformist and pastoral pope" , in short, someone who is more liberal and open-minded to tackle issues such as :

.sexuality and the role of women in the church
.birth control
.stem cell research
.ordination of female priests
.usage of birth control methods especially in AIDS-stricken countries like the African nations

I suppose the new pope isn't going to rest his laurels, especially when his predecessor has done many firsts as a papal in history (think about bringing down communism, went into a mosque and a synogogue , speaks ten different languages, held inter-faith dialogues, initiates a unification of church between the Protestant sect and the Roman Catholicism sect, focus on the youths as the new face of the Church and the list goes on...) .

Will he be a conservative pope, or a contemporary pope who adheres to the latest world events -think stem cell, condoms and morning-after pills, euthanasia, gay priests -

Will he follow the foot steps of Pope John Paul II?
-think inter-faith talks, unification of churches-

Will he focus on the future?
-think youths and women-

Will he be pro-Jesus or pro-tradition?
-think Islam , traditions of the church-

Will he stand on a side or be the strong voice against world issues?
-think terrorism, racism, AIDS , sexuality problems -

Waiting to see the next episode. Byes!

Spyware Dreamzzzzzz

If you think a spyware can only penetrate your computer system and hide within your hard disk or your memory, then you are VERY WRONG.

They go into our brain system and hide within the subconscious mind too!

A friend testifies to this.He woke up rmembering that spywares crept into his computer ; in his dreams . It must be "because of my ongoing anti spyware crusade in the office..." Muahahahaahhahaaahhaaha farny tale man!

Choose

Forgive and forget .... or revenge?
Which way is tougher? Which way would be the best? How to tackle that?

Uniten graduation ceremony

Attended Uniten's graduation yesterday.Among the news:
. Rumors had it that the only reason why Uniten is having a graduation at this time (the normal time is End of Aug/Early Sept) is because we have a new Chancellor and therefore to usher him into our lovely uni, we throw a nice party for him .. in the form of the graduation party.

. A few friends had to fly all the way back form overseas just to attend this convocation ceremony.Else, they will NOT be allowed to attend and participate in the ceremony anymore in the future. What a way to get the pupils to graduate... If you cant persuade them, you can always threaten them!

My PC keeps crashing

Just don't know why this is happening, but the computer seem to be playing tricks with me. It keeps crashing on me the whole time today - every 20 minutes to be exact. I'm just wondering what is wrong with it... :(

Virus? Worm? DOS? Someone trying to sabotage me? Weird...

Broadband in Malaysia

TMNET is so screwed up.I can't believe how they can maintain their customer base with such a bad service. Maybe we should just all switch to other providers or to get a leased line, whatever..... If they keep on having problems like this , and backup lines are useless anyway, we might as well go back to the prehistoric days where dialup was fashionable. At least network and system administrators don't get blaimed!

Bad bad Thursday

Morning : Juventus lost.
Noon : MSN lost.
Evening : Cool lost.
Night : Temper lost.

Disappointing game

Juventus paid the price during the first game in Anfield. We lost, and they won. I dont know what else to say. Congratulations to Liverpool for winning, hope they will beat Chelsea in the next round. The ball is round .. it has always been, and will always be. Juventus players will get a nice lesson from this. Unpredictable unpredictabe world of football.

A word from a friend.

The richest answers are not the speediest. Your prayers may take a longer time because it brings a heavier blessing. Delayed answers are not only trials of faith , but give us the opportunity to honor God with our steadfast confidence in Him. God's answer never come too soon and never too late. Always on time!

TM Net explains cause of outage

PETALING JAYA: The outage that disrupted TM Net Sdn Bhd’s Internet services on Thursday was caused by a failure in the APCN 2 submarine cable link between Hong Kong’s Lantau Island and Chongming Island off Shanghai, said TMNet chief executive officer Datuk Baharum Salleh.

He said the cable failure which occurred at 6.20am that day in the Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 - a 19,000km-long fibre optic cable system connecting China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan - made it difficult for Internet users to access websites hosted outside Malaysia.

It was reported yesterday that the outage affected TMNet’s streamyx, dial-up, prepaid, WiFi hotspot and leased-line services, and caused service degradation at some of its international links to Singapore, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and the United States.

Baharum said restoration was in progress and service was expected to resume by tomorrow evening.

“We are doing everything necessary to restore services. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“TM Net has diverted some traffic to other unaffected submarine cable network systems,” Baharum said in a statement.

A notice had also been posted on TMNet’s website to explain the outages.

Cold Turkeys and Withdrawal Syndrome

It's confirmed. I'm an addict to the Net ... or more specifically the MSN Messenger and the YM.This is bad...

Morning: MSN Msgr kept bobbing in and out of the server. And it irritates me so much , I had to start troubleshooting it. Reinstall it , uninstall it , and then REINSTALL IT AGAIN .. and then download the latest version of the MSN because the version 7 doesn't work anymore. And then the download doesn't work because it keeps disconnecting me off the page, so I have to redownload it many times but it still didn't work in the end. So OK fine.... I went to the MSN page, redownload the thing again and again.. because the downloaded file was not completed. Got stuck at 34% for a very long time............. zzzzzzzzzz.............. and then it says DOWNLOAD COMPLETE which got me overjoyed.Alas, it was a false alarm , and I had to continue to download it, probably already repeated the same steps 1o times!

And once I got the latest EXE file , *oh boy, I was so excited to see a picture of a box unfolded* I quickly installed it, and tried to connect it back to the MSN server. And of course, what can be worse? When it cannot connect back of course! :(

Troubleshoot everything - scan for virus and spywares , check the version , call up Streamyx and Maxis lines , check the FW and the NELB.And nothing was wrong.

Finally I gave up, plug in the modem and just tried on Maxis alone.Turned out to be excellent speed. So it's either the Streamyx or the load balancer.

Answer tomorrow.

Pukul 8 malam

Kerdipan bintang tidak kelihatan
Hanya pancaran lampu kereta senja
Aku memandang ke arah cahaya buatan
Memikirkan apakah kita sudah lupa
Alam buatan Tuhan.

Kereta-kereta manusia yang begitu sibuk
Saban hari saban malam masih berkeliaran

Mata kita melihat, jari-jemari pula sibuk mengais wang
Mencari sesuap nasi, secebis kehidupan
Agaknya inilah sebenarnya kehidupan
Sibuknya yang tiada kehujungan.

MSN and YM have gone crazy in my PC

Someone please tell me what's going on with my notebook!
There's nothing wrong on the network.... Is it the work of the spyware? i've scanned it and it's clean! Is it some virus? I dont know but I dont think so... Maybe I should scan it..

Ahh lousy lousy start on a BLUE Monday! Dang!!!

MSN and YM gone crazy

Why ?
I'm so disconnected.. Someone come save me!
I'm dying to figure it out here.... ;(

It's Pope John Paul II's funeral today. Some facts:

  • Where : A grotto beneath St. Peter's Basilica.
  • What happened between his death and funeral :
The pope died Saturday, and his body has lain in state since Monday in the basilica, where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and dozens of world leaders have come to pay their respects.
  • At least 2 million people were believed to have paid tribute to the pope since Monday.
Some waited in line for up to 12 hours for their chance to see the pope's body for a few seconds.

Extra Responsibilities = Bigger Paycheck ?

Suddenly it dawned on me that I'm shouldering many many responsibilities! Network , help desk support, email server , network security , purchasing , repairing , troubleshooting , technician, tea lady , communicator, scapegoat ...and the list continues to grow... And a host of things, and yet low salary!

Someone suggested that I ask for a higher pay, but I'm wondering if it is the right time to demand for more.... After all, I'm not a skilled worker yet , and I don't have enough experience or accolades to claim. I wonder what I should do to claim it. Hmm....

The equation should be :
Extra Responsibilities + Bigger Paycheck = Bigger headache.

Friendly match.. Michel Platini and Ian Rush to commemorate this historical event after 20 years of not playing against one another Heysel event).  Posted by Hello

Full Time 1 : Liv 2- Juv 1

Full Time 1 : Liv 2- Juv 1
Venue : Anfield, Liverpool.

First Half for Liverpool : Attack and Control wellCool corner tries and tackles. Scored two goals before 30 minutes are up! Plenty of opportunities because most are on the forward mode.

First Half for Juventus : Defend mode , dont-know-how-to-play mode.Didn't get much of the ball. Too busy defending as Liverpool was very fierce. Midfield didnt send much up for Del Piero or Ibrahimovic. Not much chance to score.

Second Half for Liverpool : Defend strategy
Although defending , Liverpool played well with a few corner kicks and free kicks. Gerrard and Baros even tried on the goal but they were either too high up or too far away from the goal post.

Second Half for Juventus : Attack !!!
Attack would be their natural action since they have been playing like kiddos on the street in the first half! However, they seem to lack the punch. There were a few wild shots from afar from Juventus , but that was that. If it wasn't for the 'lucky' goal which Cannavaro sent into the goal, I bet Juventus would be crying their way home. :(:(:(

Overall :
Good match , with Liverpool returning to its full form. The coach must be really proud of his boys. Juventus has to buck up in the second leg of the match , else I'll definitely have to fork out money already here! The goal conceded by both Liverpool players (Hyypia - 10' and Luis Garcia-24') were beautiful compared to Cannavaro's second half header.

Man of the Match: 19-year-old Scott Carson from Liverpool, goalkeeper.
This guy is a third choice as the goalkeeper it seems. Replacing Dudek who was injured , he went well in defending many tries of Del Piero and Ibrahimovic. Firewalker salutes u!

Future game next week:
Juventus : Juventus need to score one goal ahead of Liverpool. They better NOT let Liverpool score anything first, or at all. They must maintain a point ahead of Liverpool to be able to take advantage of the 2-1 aggregate since they have the upper hand in scoring the away goal.

Liverpool : Liverpool needs one more goal to seal the faith against Juventus to make it 3-1 or 3-2 aggregate. They need to attack early and then just enter defend mode after that to cruise into the Semis.

Key point for both sides: Attack early for both teams . Defence is important for Juventus as well.

Half Time : Liv 2- Juv0

Juventus at Half Time:
1. Bad game for them.
2. Run like ducks- helter skelter
3. NO coordination between center and attacking side.
4. Del Piero hardly got any chance on the ball.
5. Ibrahimovic tried his best - but not good enough.
6. Coordination and speed is the key!
7. Not much chance under the pressure of Liverpool fans in Anfield.

Liverpool at Half Time:
1. Luis Garcia is very lengchai!
2. Speed and coordination - good.
3. Baros can play some football.
4. They just need to defend in the second half.
5. Many corners and free kicks for Liverpool in the first half.

A dove and the man.... Just beautiful. Posted by Hello

Prayer for the Selection of the new Pope

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The Conclave is starting soon in the Sistine Chapel to elect a new pope , the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

Let us all pray for the College of Cardinals ; for its members to be fully God-inspired to select the new Pope to replace the late Pope John Paul II. At this age of silent wars and selfish hearts, we need a man of God , of compassion , full of humility and a sense of understanding of the current times to lead one of the greatest forces of morality on earth. Let's pray to Jesus that the Holy Spirit will guide the College in performing God's will.

In Jesus's name, we ask and pray humbly, Amen.

Flu and the sore throat

What's the best way to cure flu and sore throat and cough when you already had the antibiotics dosage , you've finished it and yet you still have not gotten well?

"Make no Mistakes"

Bush said this line in his speech following the Sept 11th incident ; where USA and the rest of the world was caught "unaware"( note the inverted-commas because someone did claim that they knew about the purported evil plan before it happened and yet the CIA and the FBI did not pay heed to it ; too much of false positives all the time maybe...)

I wonder how much has been done to alleviate the terrorism problem in homeland America - and how many of these measures are actually effective. Recent tsunami events on a day after Christmas 2004 and Easter 2005 shows our unpreparedness towards facing the unknown and the unevitable. If another crash happens at another Twin Tower such as KLCC, how would it impact us? How would it impact the emotions of the entire world ? Are we going to launch another hunt against the terrorists or hold another Force Of Nature II concert ? How do we prepare our own minds and hearts against heartless acts as such?

Make no mistakes twice. We've been caught in the act twice during the recent earthquakes - let it not be a third time. Do what's right and do not wait till the last minute, when every thing is already too late.

Jesus says this : "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew 24:36)

What warning has Christ given that we might not be taken by surprise by this great event? It's in the Bible, Luke 21:34-36, TLB. "Watch out! Don't let My sudden coming catch you unawares; don't let Me find you living in careless ease, carousing and drinking, and occupied with the problems of this life, like all the rest of the world. Keep a constant watch."

Do what is right.

Murphy's Law

http://community-2.webtv.net/Babajani1/MurphysLaw/

Blogging Me head

Haven't been writing a lot these days, but certainly been thinking alot.

  • Too close to comfort -versus- courtesy and comfort?
  • Jesus Christ -versus- courtesy and comfort to accommodate others' beliefs?
  • Respect to friends -versus- need to address issue of the spiritual warfare?
  • Work -versus- love for work?
  • Need to work -versus- joy for work?
  • Jun -versus- others? :P

Cocky statement made to ensure you flare up if you are a stateman

Was just going through the morning paper on the development of World Bank and accension of an elected representative to the United Nations(UN), and found a few statements which are bound to invite more terrorists for tea in the United States. *Sorry to my fellow American friend who is reading this, but it's really what your country fellowman said*

Ok, just a little background of things before the statements itself :
USA is in the process of selecting their new rep to UN. They also want to elect a new President for World Bank, where USA has the most say in simply because they have a lot of money in it. World Bank(WB) and the International Monetary Bank(IMF) has traditionally been US's forte because they contribute a large amount of funds to be channelled to Third World countries in the form of grants and loans. The logic is this, when you have a lot of money in a pool of fund , you tend to have the largest say in it as well. It's not JUST any bank, it's the World Bank. It's not JUST any fund, it's the International Monetary Fund ! These bodies are *supposed* to be independent and unbiased in giving out loans to deserving countries, and not loans attached with rules such as subtle support for the USA in the UN, or even allowing chemical waste dumping in their nations, or be at the losing end of the carbon trading in the world. Politics is dark, and USA administration demonstrated it best through this mean. Critics are afraid that these bodies will just be another arm of US's unilateralism policies. This causes harm not only to the America and her citizens around the world, it also entices and encourage freedom firghters and insurgents, to fight back unilateralism. What brand of democracy is America pursuing?

By tradition, the Americans pick the heads of WB and IMF.This time around, though, things seem more shaky because the two names which are lingering amongst the inner circle are two persons who raise many eyebrows due to their extreme views on the UN and the World Bank.

John Bolton , candidate to be an Ambassador of USA to the United Nations

Q1:What is your view on UN? -->Reply: "The UN? There is no such thing as the United Nations. If the UN building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

Q2: Reform of the Security Council? --> Reply: "If I were redoing the Security Council, I'd have one permanent member: the United States."

Q3: International Law? Reply : "It is a big mistake for us to grant any validity to the international law.

Paul Wolfowitz , candidate to be the President of World Bank

  • Deputy Defense Secretary of United States (Profile here)
  • Consistently push for the end of the US doctrine of the international containment
  • Believes USA has the right to pre-emptive actions whenever it sees fit.
  • Extends "Benevolent Hegemony" over the rest of the world. (i.e. his brand of good things for the world)
  • Famous for being the forefront man for directing the Iraqi invasion
  • Military analyst for Ronald Reagan
  • Some of his quotes

God bless America, and God bless us all...

S E P E T

Great show.Great portrayal of Malaysian way of life. Great storyline. Simple and nice, not much hype. Just like how life should be - peace.

Sometimes , in movies, they should just go straight to the point. This is one movie which doesn't waste time.

Love is protrayed as sweet, real. False love and pretentious love is lethal and deadly. Lust and sex should be left outside the bedroom, out of wedlock. Lust kills.

Time is out of our control. Do not think you have alot of it. Enjoy what today holds, because you can never grab the next moment. Appreciate love. Appreciate the people around you.

Thanks for the timeout with me , dear.. if you're reading this!

One Liners for your Car.

1. Give God what's right -- not what's left.

2. Man's way leads to a hopeless end -- God's way leads to an endless hope.

3. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

4. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.

5. In the sentence of life, the devil may be a comma--but never let him be the period.

6. Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.

7. Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a face-lift.

8. When praying, don't give God instructions - just report for duty.

9. Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.

10. We don't change God's message -- His message changes us.

11. The church is prayer-conditioned.

12. When God ordains, He sustains.

13. WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning.

14. Plan ahead -- It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

15. Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.

Unpredictable Life

Life's unpredictable. You'll never know what's gonna happen tonight, this afternoon , one hour from now.... the next minute, or even the next second. I drove home yesterday evening without knowing that I would be watching a free movie at Midvalley an hour and a half later. Well, the movie isn't too great really, Miss Congeniality 2 seem to have lost its fun without Michael Caine and all his pomp, but seeing Sandra Bullock again do bring back old memories of Speed. She looked the same Sandra, the nice girl-next-door. I wish to see Meg Ryan back on screen again... wonder where she went. She and her cute button nose and the way she smiles and grins and chatters endlessly when she wants to. She and Tom Hanks look great together in those romantic comedies which never fail to melt my heart every time I watch them. :)

Ahh, yes speaking about romantic comedies , HITCH is an OK watch. Many tips and tricks which both girls and guys use during courtship and anti-courtship were shown here. Great tips for those who are on a lookout for a partner but finding it hard to make the first move. *If you don't get one , or you end up being slapped for no apparent reason, hey, do it on your own risk alright???*

Still wondering about Meg Ryan... Hmm.. oh yeah, my all time fav, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Who can beat them and their little modern fairy tale? :)

The Parable of the Stone and the Lalang

"but then its their weakness. u only get irritated if u`re weak."

"dont support any groups la.. become lalang.which is hated by everyone hehhehe..."

"nope, i`m not a lalang. i`m a stone."

"if one becomes a lalang then can support anythg they like."

"stone dun support any team, they stand on their own hard."

Food for thought.

The Evidence of Working Is Bad for health!

When I'm tired and bored of looking at my work , I'd go disturb some friends online.Thank God for MSN and YM!!!!

Work is so boring until I had to cheer myself up by looking at my friendster page and start writing testimonial for my friends. Reading their testimonials make me understand how each of us have a different personality when meeting with different people - diversity makes people interesting and I'm glad I met many interesting people in life. These are the ones who make you smile, cry, laugh, and laugh all over again! After that it's back to work.

Ok, back to work.

I am the Epitome of Goodness!

One time use of the phrase above (reproduced in any way - online or offline, printed or written)... RM 10 to the originator i.e. ME .

End of story. hahahaha...

*Hard to fast. The second week of fasting is getting tougher. Stomach is asking for fish and meat already :( Seeing someone next to you eating fresh fish, steamy lala and friend sotong in salad sauce isn't the best way to fast, especially when you're very hungry . Well, to the counting , only 7 more days to Easter... pray harder... hehehheh all together now!

I am a Force Of Nature

1.Backstreet Boys

They look a bit jaded , but at least they can still dance a bit, albeit dancing a bit rusty. The boys have grown into full men already now... no more MMBOP style boys, but actually men who look macho and steady. I would say Howie D looks fresh and clean. Nick Carter put on alot of weight, he'd better lose alot of weight to be able to dance properly! Brian looks very cute, the innicent and nice guy , your typical boy-next-door type. AJ surprises me with his singinig talents, he could reach really high pitch and long breath when he do the high notes. Of course, Kevin Richardson looks the best alright. Why? Because he is my favourite in the group la! Abuthen??

They performed a new single for their next album. Can't remember the name of the song, but it sounded good and it kind of less-boybandish *for the boyband haters, I guess...* No more "as long as you love me-s" and "I want it that way...." but more matured song lyrics, for young teen-boppers turning into young-adults who are supposed to be wondering about life and love and everything else under the sky, like myself.....

2. BoysIIMen - Romeos

I wish they would sing "One Sweet Day" but no... they didn't .. maybe because Mariah Carey wasn't there. *Hey guys, I can do that part , you know!* But they sang all the popular hits - Mama, On Bended Knees, End of the Road, I'll Make Love To You. Great thing to actually watch them sing live.... I'll never get this chance if I had not gone to this concert, unless I want to travel to USA to watch their concert. Think COST!

3. Wyclef Jean - A crowd pleaser

He has a DJ which plays good club music, a bodyguard who dances and drives a Harley...but he himself is a guitar player as well.. Hwahhhh this guy arr... I don't even know who the heck this guy is.. except that he is an Afro-American who travelled 26 hours *long enough time to NOT allow anyone in the stadium to stick their butts to the chair during his time on stage!!!* He is a real crowd -pleaser , he knows how to tease the crowd by allowing us to sit for 3 minutes and then singing another song to make us go all frenzy again! And what's the next song which he sings so that we can rest for 3 minutes???? Quantanamera... he got the whole stadium crazyyyy!!!! I tell ya, he is SUPERB!

4. Black Eye Peas - the craziest bunch of the night
Woooooo I can't say anything more than saying that they are GOODDDDD, ok, GREAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT.... They sing, they dance , they rap, they play music, they do all kinds of nonsense on the stage which actually grabs the attention of the crowd in the stadium. Crazy bunch of artistes! I've never heard all their songs before except for 'Where Is the Love' and 'Shut Up'.. but after witnessing what they can do (dance bonelessly, shake endlessly, sing well and play music themselves )and hearing what they can sing, I think "Where is the Love" is the understatement to what they can perform.....

Other performers:
1) Lady Sings All k-ok session : Jackie Chan and a lady- sang "Ming Ming Bai Bai Ni De Xin "(Understanding Your Heart)
His fav song obviously, but I'd rather he do some acrobatic stunts .. perhaps flying down from 3rd storey of the stadium with fire on his legs... hahhahaa..and then meet Michelle Yeoh, his lover on the way flying down , and then they gazed into each others' eyes.. and then they stay in the midair for 10seconds, slo-mo back into the stage together.... wow.. perfect! *Any resemblance to any Kungfu shows such as Crouching Cats and Hidden Dogs are coincidental :P*

2) Ravishing : Sheila Majid was great
... great dress , great voice, great rapport, great smile, great confidence.... I love that orange dress!!!!!! And she doesn't look a day older than when I first saw her , as far as my memory is concerned., that is. Her body is still slim, and her voice.... what can I say? World Class.... Woooo..hoooo.... I was half-wishing she could sing Lagenda, but then again, in an occasion like this one, perhaps it aint proper to sing any more sad songs.... She sang Warna and also Sinaran. Good enough for me... :D:D:D

3) Metrosexual Man : Anuar Zain
He was more of a model than a singer that night. He was doing the famous smiles and the all familiar waves to the crowd, but nothing that we havent seen before.... If he had not sang that duet called "Jauh" with Sheila, he may not hold the audience too well. Luckily he came out before all the heavy-weights...

4) Innuendo : Innuendo
They TRIED to be the crowd pleaser... and boy, they tried very hard. But you know, sometimes somethings fail you and so it happened that night. The sound system screwed them up nicely, and their voice was barely audible amidst the live band. It could have been a perfect blend of music and sweet singing, but alas... Sound Engineers to be blaimed here.

5) Young sweet princess : Dayang Norfaizah
Wanting to replace either Ning Baizura or Siti Norhaliza or both*I suspect* , she wasn't given a chance to prove her salt. Sang little and didn't communicate to the audience much, although this stage is one place where she could have strut her stuff since many foreign dignitaries and important VVIPs were there that night. She looks great anyway... :)

6) Rebel Prince-turn-Good Boy: Nicholas Tse
When I see this guy, I can only remember his crime. But everyone deserves a second chance, therefore I hope he is knows he is being freed by grace. He sang a Canto number that night, a song which has lots of Oriental influence.Nice song, would have been better if he had a longer time on stage to see him strum the guitar and hopefully not too tempted to smash it in front of the likes of Paula Abdul and Bai Ling.. hahhahahhaa....

7) Solo dancing :Yumiko Cheng
Pity her... I don't know much about this girl since she is still new in the HK musical industry, except that she used to be a ballet dancer, she has a pretty face and she sang fairly well. She didn't get good response frm the crowd that night but I hope this didn't break her heart. Everyone starts somewhere ,and with some training and push from the record companies and radio stations, she would make it in NO TIME...

8) Emcee De Orange : Michelle Yeoh
One beautiful, graceful , fantastic and inspiring woman... that's what I would say about Michelle Yeoh. Albeit being Bond Gal, or Jean Todt's Gal... she still kept her identity and refusing to sit back and relax. She keeps moving, keeps updating herself with the latest activity. You can see her in much rigour, much energy, a lot of zest in whatever she puts her heart in. My role model definitely. The only thing perhaps she should improve on? Her public speaking skills.. Try not look at the paper Michelle, you're my role model... you can do public speaking!!! Ohh, btw she looks cute as a translater for Jackie Chan. As for Jackie Tai Kor.. I hope he speaks Canto the next time and not put himself in a difficult position.:)

9) Dinty tame looking things: Soong Ai Ling , Camelia and Bai Ling
But they kick a$$ ok, don't pray pray with them!!! They look beautiful on the stage , although not much time there... They did make a good impression. Camelia in particular, looked wonderful in that green dress. Wonder where she got that from...

10) Teacher, how do you sing ahhh?? :Clay Aiken
Nerdy-looking cikgu turned superstar overnight. He still looks VERY down-to-earth , with khaki bermudas and a green shirt and a belt. Also holding a paper to read *Whats with public speaking talent?? They can do it la, Mr Organizer!*, he still has the little nerdish look when he speaks. I wish he sings too!

11) A few other artistes : One looked like Ricky Martin, can't remember his name but he stars in NYPD Blue. He also made a brief appearance on stage. Also Lance and Joey of N'Sync... bonus man!!! Hehhee.. Joey was very big as usual. Hey man, you won't be able to dance soon if you're continuing your current diet! Too bad they didn't do "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" .. would be fun!Didn't manage to see Paula Abdul though.. Carol and Malc were luckier... We also saw Tan Sri Razali Ismail on stage.

12) The Queen from Indonesia : Ruth Sahanaya
This is ONE BIG BONUS... I've never heard her live. She looks great and she sang even better. She wore a white lacey dress that night.... Looks wonderful on her ; almost regal-like minus the tiara. She sang a duet with Halle Berry's ex-husband *can't remember his name either* and she looked comical because she had to crane her neck up high to see him next to her. Hahhaha..... Perhaps they should arrange for a not-so-vertically-challenged-singer for her next time.:P Otherwise, she is fantastic. Like I said, bonus track for the night.

13) Grammy Winner : Lauryn Hill
She can sing .. she can sing... she sings so well until I can't describe much more about her *partly because my fingers are aching now since I've typed such a long entry*. Ask me when you see me online la... if you really must know about her.

The little things that could have been much better:
1.Too much breaks
2.Too many people smoking
3.Lousy sound system sometimes - barely hear what the lyrics are!
4.No bringing in camera, water and food, ESPECIALLY CAMERA!!

The crowd : Fantastic. Very supportive and very active , responsive crowd.
Our seats : Good, but not much difference with RM82.Tough luck. Better get either RM552 or RM82 next time.
My company : The girl was on the quiet side. Lillian, why so quiet?? The guy? Haha... Sweet memories for me, my dear . It's just the way we groove, baby... How about you?

Overall:

This is one concert I didn't regret coming to. Where else on earth would you get crowd like the above , singing 7 hours for you, and not even a penny into their own pockets except for the expenses covered? It's the meaning of the concert which also appealed to me, besides BSB.

Humans are a force of nature. Amen.
