Second Day in Singapore - Friday ( 4/Nov/2004 )

7.30 am: Woke up at 7.30 am. Can't break the habit hehe. Slept again after a while until 8+.

Morning: Laze around til noon. Then took a cab to Far East Plaza, Orchard Road. This place sells alot of clothes and apparels for teens and young adults. Was very tempted indeed. Their variety of bags and clothes beat the likes of the ones in Sungai Wang . Lunch at a chicken rice shop. Lousy but expensive.Easily beated by any store in Malaysia. Total spent: SGD22.70 for 4 pax.

Noon : Went window shopping at shops and boutiques along Orchard Road. can't get anythg since it's only the first day in Singapore. The decos are already up, only minor things need to be touched up.Stalls are being set up along the pavewalk.Boys Brigaders and several churches held joint charity bazaars along the road.Malls which we visited:

1. Far East Plaza

2. Takashimaya

3. Duty Free Shop (DFS)

4. etc.. cant remember their names.

If u are a fan of great interior designing, I suggest you visit DFS. It's nothing like your Midvalley or KLCC or 1-U; it's splendidly designed. Spacious and classy, it exudes charm and sophistication.Anyone who walks in , whether you are indeed a serious buyer or just a curious on-looker , they welcome you with arms wide open. You want Tiffany diamonds for your girlfriend or Cartier watches to impress your future-in-laws? No problem , just head to the 3rd floor's showrooms. Girl, you feel like carrying a Paris Hilton bag? Head on to Level 4 where they sell Guess merchandise, you'd find the image of Paris pouting her silvery pink lips. A wide range of brands , some of which I've never even heard of. (real jakun) To purchase an item with a discounted price, you'd have to show your passport.

3pm : Ice-cream time in Swensen's.Wanted to order Earthquake ( One big bowl of ice-cream with 8 balls of ice cream with toppings) . We ordered many flavours: Vanilla, Choc Fudge, Thin Mint,Orange Sherbet , Lime Sherbet, and a few other flavours; most of whcih are only available at 4pm that evening.Which ice cream shop does not have vanilla ice cream , for goodness sake?!!! Haihh... we were so frustrated so we ordered a topless 5 and an Apple Crumble instead. Ohh man, the Apple Crumble was fantastic! The crumble came in a hot pan topped with an ice cream. Before they served us, they poured the apple sauce together with the cooked apple cubes. Ohh .. hot crumble plus cold cold ice cream.. heavenly!

4pm : Continue window shopping. Went to a complex which sels only sports and surf items with brands like Stussy, Rip Curl, QuikSilver, Roxy, Nike and Mambo.Standard wear for the youngsters of Singapore. then went to Takashimaya to redeem our free gift from Wacoal. Got 2 paper tissue packets each. hahaahaha~ Saw some bikinis over there ; their selection is wider than ours in KL. Tried a jumper in MNG , not to nice . Lil bought a pair of pants in Bossini. Q cheap as they are having sale.We also bought nail paints and body stickers from Watson's.

530pm : Decided not to go home to bathe since there might not be enough time. Took a train to the Esplanade. Got a little lost when we reach City Hall MRT station. An uncle was kind enough to walk us along the underpass . On the left and right of this tunnel, there are more shops!Talk about shopping...

6pm : Reached The Durian (nickname for the Esplanade).Collected the Mamma Mia tickets. Then decided to take a walk along the Esplanade bridge towards the Merlion park.Saw Fullerton Hotel, self-declared 6 star hotel.Michael Jackson stayed here during his visit to Spore. Along this bridge , you can see Maybank and HSBC buildings , as well as a bridge on the opposite side with a heavy traffic.

7pm : Look for dinner place. Finally found one. I had fried chilli noodle with soft shell crab. Ohh yummy! Total price : SGD 48 for 3 pax. My self: SGD11++.

8pm : Mamma Mia! here I go again.. You are the dancing Queen , young and sweet only seventeeennnn....~~

1030pm : End of show.Went home , tired and happy. Hahah...

ALmost 12am : Slumped to bed like a sand bag.
